TRADE & FUNDING OPTIONS

TRADE SCHOOL

A trade school (also known as a technical school) is a postsecondary option to train students for a specific job in a skilled trade career. A trade school offers hands-on training to prepare students for actual work in their chosen field. Trade school programs focus entirely on relevant job training, which is different from  2-year or 4-year colleges that typically require general education courses, such as English or Biology.

APPRENTICESHIPS

An apprenticeship combines paid on-the-job-training with a mix of classroom instruction to prepare workers in specific careers. Apprenticeships  are most common in skilled trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, transportation, and manufacturing.
